These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our services, our website, and any booking or repair engagement with Cybrix Electronics. By submitting a booking, dropping off a device, or using our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, submitting an online booking, or presenting your device for repair or diagnostics, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed with a booking or service request.

We reserve the right to update or amend these terms at any time. The most current version will always be available on this page and takes effect immediately upon publication.

  • Hardware upgrades — RAM upgrades, SSD installation, GPU and component upgrades.
  • IT support Melbourne — remote and on-site technical support for home and small business users.
  • Electronics diagnostics — assessment and fault identification for all consumer electronics.

All services are subject to parts availability, technical feasibility, and the specific condition of the device presented. Cybrix Electronics reserves the right to decline a repair job where it is deemed unsafe, technically impossible, or outside our current service scope.

4. Repair Timeframes

All repair timeframes provided by Cybrix Electronics — whether quoted verbally, in writing, via our website, or during the booking process — are estimates only and are not guaranteed completion times. Actual repair time may vary depending on the complexity of the fault, parts availability, and current workshop volume.

We will make every reasonable effort to complete repairs within the estimated timeframe and will notify you promptly if delays arise. Cybrix Electronics accepts no liability for losses, costs, or inconvenience resulting from a repair taking longer than the initial estimate.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Before submitting your device for any repair or IT service, you are responsible for the following:

  • Providing accurate details about your device, including make, model, and a clear description of the fault.
  • Disclosing any prior repairs, modifications, or third-party service history that may affect the current repair.
  • Removing any SIM cards, memory cards, cases, or accessories prior to drop-off unless directly relevant to the fault.
  • Ensuring the device is your property or that you have the legal authority to authorise repairs on it.
  • Providing a valid contact number and email address so we can reach you with updates or approval requests during the repair process.
  • Collecting your repaired device within the agreed or specified timeframe (see Section 13).

6. Device Inspection & Diagnostics

Upon receiving your device, Cybrix Electronics will conduct an initial inspection to document its visible condition, including any pre-existing cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or cracks. This pre-repair condition report protects both you and us. By submitting your device, you acknowledge and accept the documented pre-existing condition.

Where a diagnostic assessment is required before a quote can be provided, we will inform you of any applicable diagnostic fee upfront. If you decline to proceed with the repair following a paid diagnostic, the diagnostic fee is non-refundable as it covers the labour and time incurred in assessing your device.

In some cases, additional faults may be identified during the repair process that were not apparent during the initial inspection. We will contact you before proceeding with any additional work or charges.

7. Warranty Policy

All repair work carried out by Cybrix Electronics is covered by a 90-day warranty against defects in the specific parts replaced and the workmanship of the repair performed. The warranty is subject to the following conditions:

  • The warranty applies only to the specific component(s) repaired or replaced and does not extend to other parts of the device.
  • The warranty is void if the device has been subject to subsequent physical impact, liquid ingress, or unauthorised repairs or modifications after our service.
  • Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, and cosmetic deterioration after collection are not covered.
  • Warranty claims must be lodged within the 90-day period by contacting us at info@cybrix.com.au or calling +61411790014.
  • Warranty repairs will be carried out at our Melbourne workshop at no additional charge where the claim is deemed valid.

Our warranty is provided in addition to any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.

8. Limitation of Liability

Cybrix Electronics takes every reasonable precaution when handling customer devices. However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Australian law, we are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing faults, damage, or deterioration present in the device prior to the repair.
  • Loss, corruption, or inaccessibility of data during the repair process (see Section 9).
  • Delays in repair completion caused by parts availability, supplier issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • Consequential, indirect, or economic loss arising from the unavailability of a device during repair.
  • Damage to a device that results from a pre-existing structural weakness or undisclosed prior damage.

Where liability cannot be excluded under the ACL, our liability is limited to re-performing the relevant service or refunding the cost of that service, at our discretion.

9. Data Backup Responsibility

You are solely responsible for backing up all data on your device before submitting it for any repair, service, or diagnostic assessment. This includes but is not limited to photos, videos, contacts, messages, documents, application data, and any other personal or business files stored on the device or its associated storage media.

Cybrix Electronics will take all reasonable care with your device; however, certain repair procedures — including but not limited to motherboard repairs, software reinstallation, operating system recovery, and some hardware replacements — may result in the partial or complete loss of data. We are not liable for any data loss, regardless of cause.

If data recovery is part of your service request, we will advise you of the likelihood of success prior to commencing work. Data recovery outcomes cannot be guaranteed and are subject to the physical and logical condition of the storage media.

10. Payment Terms

The following payment conditions apply to all services provided by Cybrix Electronics:

  • Payment in full is required before your device is released following a completed repair or service.
  • Quoted prices are valid at the time of booking and are subject to change if additional faults are discovered or if you request additional work beyond the original scope.
  • We accept payment by cash, card, and bank transfer. Specific payment methods available will be confirmed at the time of service.
  • For parts-on-order repairs, a deposit may be required at the time of booking to cover the cost of the ordered component.
  • Outstanding invoices not settled within the agreed timeframe may incur late fees or result in the device being held until payment is received.

11. Refund & Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances change. Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

  • More than 24 hours notice: Full cancellation or reschedule at no charge.
  • Less than 24 hours notice or no-show: A partial restocking or cancellation fee may apply where a part has already been ordered specifically for your device.
  • Completed repairs: Refunds will not be issued for completed services unless the repair is found to be defective and a valid warranty claim is lodged under Section 7.
  • Deposits: Deposits paid to secure a parts order are non-refundable if you cancel after the part has been dispatched by the supplier.
  • Consumer Law rights: Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible at info@cybrix.com.au or call +61411790014.

12. Parts Availability & Replacement

For on-the-spot repairs such as screen replacements and battery replacements, Cybrix Electronics will order the required part for your specific device model in advance of your appointment. By confirming a booking you acknowledge that a part may be ordered specifically for your device and that you are committed to attending.

You are responsible for providing the correct and complete device model during booking. If an incorrect model is provided and an incompatible part is ordered as a result, additional charges or delays may apply. If you are unsure of your exact device model, please contact us before booking.

All replacement parts used by Cybrix Electronics are sourced from reputable suppliers. We use high-quality compatible or OEM-equivalent parts unless an original manufacturer part is specifically requested and agreed upon in advance. The use of compatible parts does not affect your warranty rights under these terms or the ACL.

13. Collection of Repaired Devices

Once your repair is complete, we will notify you via phone or email. You are requested to collect your device within 14 days of receiving the completion notification. Devices not collected within this period may incur a storage fee of $5 per day (or part thereof) from the 15th day onward.

Devices left uncollected for more than 60 days after the completion notification, with no contact from the customer, may be disposed of or recycled at Cybrix Electronics’ discretion in accordance with applicable Victorian legislation. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking any such action.

Full payment of the repair invoice and any applicable storage fees must be settled in full before the device is released.

14. Privacy & Customer Information

Your personal information — including name, email address, phone number, and device details — is collected solely for the purpose of managing your booking, carrying out the requested service, and communicating with you about your repair. Cybrix Electronics handles all personal data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable Victorian privacy legislation.
